Tim Matsui

I am an Emmy-nominated multimedia journalist and producer focusing on human trafficking, alternative energy, and the environment. My clients have included Newsweek, Stern, Der Spiegel, GEO, Wired and many other domestic and international publications.

Today, I partner with editorial outlets, non profit organizations, corporations, and self publish to tell meaningful journalistic stories. I am currently developing an engagement component to my 2012 Alexia Foundation Women’s Initiative Grant project. Through an editing partnership with MediaStorm, the photography project is now a feature length documentary film. I am working to leverage this content and create opportunities for communities to actively participate in shifting institutional and cultural norms.

As a non profit founder and recipient of grants from the Alexia Foundation, Open Society Foundations, and Fund for Investigative Journalism, I seek to inform and engage viewers through projects, using media for social change.
