Members of Uganda's LGBTQI community are rarely seen as human. Antigay laws strip them of humanity as many regard them as the
other. Alien.This book intentionally takes a different approach, focusing on the mundane is things, tangible reminders that despite the climate, these are humans.Without revealing names and identity, they share things that they like and those that make them happy.This collaborative project gave the photographer a chance to capture images that present participants in a respectful light, something many headlines deny them. Additionally, the subject is flipped to focus on happiness, further humanising them.

Through such a positive lens, this long-term project hopes to contribute to ongoing efforts to counter bigoted narratives that are sustained by skewed media coverage on this particular matter in Uganda.
