Brenda Spielmann, born in São Paulo, Brazil, immigrated to Canada, where she attended the Photography Image Arts B.F.A. program at Ryerson University. She is a freelance photographer and has been commissioned by various publications in Miami, Sao Paulo and Toronto and has exhibited in group and solo shows.
She designed and taught “Light Writers”, a socially-inclusive digital photography program, to children and youth of all abilities at Public Schools, and Children's Hospitals. Brenda has lectured in the U.S. and Canada, on Arts and Health and was the recipient of the Ontario and Toronto Art Council grants.
Brenda continues to produce bodies of works which include her family, persons with disabilities as well as anything that sparks her curiosity. She currently lives in Toronto, Canada.
