About
Emmi Shockley is a New York based actor and filmmaker originally from Ocean City, Maryland. She first stepped onto the independent film scene as a high schooler when she was cast in Michael Tully’s Sundance feature Ping Pong Summer. After starring in this film and traveling through the festival circuit, Emmi was inspired to begin writing and directing. Emmi was attending Fordham University where she wrote and directed her short film We Regret to Inform You for the 2016 Campus MovieFest competition. She was selected as a finalist at the international level of this competition and was invited to screen her film at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. She holds a BFA in Film and Television Production from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. During her time at NYU, she wrote, directed, and starred in her two most recent short films Don’t Be a Baby and J-1.
