I am a writer, photographer, and filmmaker living in Seattle. I am interested in bonds between people and land, the existential weight of history, loneliness, and the indomitable human spirit.
I grew up a few hundred yards away from the Ohio River in Cincinnati. After earning a B.A. in Journalism at the University of Cincinnati and completing three editorial internships at magazines, I began working as a freelance editorial researcher, fact-checking feature articles and contributing supplemental story research for National Geographic Digital Media, Smithsonian Magazine, and others. In 2014, I returned to school to study photography and multimedia production in the M.A. program at Ohio University's School of Visual Communication. I finished the coursework in 2016.
My nonfiction work has been published or highlighted by Aint-Bad Magazine, Cause Beautiful, Fly Over Media, Soul of Athens, and Visura Community. "Once The Ground Thaws," a fiction film I co-wrote and co-directed, was completed in 2017 and has screened at Louisville International Festival of Film.
