Two brothers who have been looking to the past to find the truth of their family and the town they were born in walk the grounds of a newly discovered cemetery that belonged to their Great Great grandparents.
For the last two months, I have been focusing my cameras on two brothers in Weatherford, Texas. Weatherford is known in the media lately for its July 24th protests against the Confederate monument that was anonymously voted to stay on the courthouse grounds; locals came out to protest against the statue as they did to protect it. Guns and violence broke out of this small town as racism issues have been focused around the country. These two brothers are on the front lines in this fight. They have been spending the better part of this year researching their family history that ties back to Weatherford's slave trade. As they discover their family history, they discover the towns. As this story unfolds, I dive deep to show the struggle, fight, and life in this small Texas town.
