According to the minister, Génération identitaire promulgates hatred, violence and racial discrimination and acts as a private militia. Tens of thousands took to the streets in Paris to show their discontent with the vaccination tracking that is now in place in France. The so called pass sanitaire, or health pass, is now needed to enter restaurants, bars or any public gatherings that are inside. Health workers are obliged to be vaccinated or be dismissed from september 2021. Those who cannot show to be fully vaccinated or have a very recent negative PCR test, will not be allowed into any public event from August 2021. Protesters, mainly those who support the Gilets Jaunes movement, or yellow vests, managed to acces the usually impenetrable Champs-Élysées.
