My Left Eye

I dig through painful memories to reveal open wounds. I tell my story to process the damage and recover my gaze, which was blinded by the Peruvian State. 5 years ago I was a victim of police repression, I was shot in the eye while I was photographing a protest. Since then I have not had peace and much less justice. With my project I want to express what I am feeling when I observe the world through my left eye: broken dreams, nightmares; police testimonies and proceedings; medical exams; blurred memories; the fear that I still carry within andthe difficulty to process the trauma.
