Petra Priskin is a 20-year-old self-taught writer-director based between London and Munich. Her most recent short film 'There Must Be Land on the Other Side' won the first-ever Share Her Journey Prize, awarded by BAFTA-winning director Amma Asante, at Toronto International Film Festival's TIFFxInstagram section and screened at the 35. Kasseler Dokumentar und Videofilmfestival, Lift-Off Online Sessions and at 2019 BFI Future Film Festival. It has also been featured on TOGE+HER, a mental health platform for young women. Petra’s festival attendance has been supported by German Films.
Her photographic works have been exhibited and published in various magazines such as photomünchen 2017 and the Palm* Studios Photo Prize. Petra has interned for companies such as Somesuch, Kode and CHEAT.
Petra’s short film script ‘Monster in my Bed’ is a 2020 Scout Film Festival Emerging Filmmakers Grant Finalist.
Petra has been selected to the Talent Demo program at Camerimage 2019 with her debut feature film project Hell and Heaven and to the 2020 Junior Entertainment Talent Slate which takes place during the 70th Berlinale. Hell and Heaven has also been featured in one of Germany’s most renowned newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung where the director was named one of 2020’s young people to watch.
