Matt Janecek

MattWJ has been a photographer all of his life and has worked on many different projects. Specializing in film capture and development, but shooting in digital almost every day, MattWJ is very familiar with many different styles of photographic techniques. Matt regularly shoots and develops black and white 4í—5 film shot on one of his many Graflex cameras. Preferring this for his own artwork, he meticulously inspects all lighting and details of every image before shooting it in order to keep all the work in camera and leave little to post processing.

Studying Industrial and Scientific photography, Matt is able to capture what the human eye cannot. This goes for people as well; using very little expression in each image, and only lightly directing the models, Matt is able to capture their personalities and bring them forward to the viewer. Using the technique of capturing everything properly in camera, he is very used to posing models and keeping photographic aesthetics as priority.

MattWJ is able to artistically capture images of people, places, and the nature surrounding them. He is located in San Diego, California, and is willing to travel for any project that needs skill and expertise.
