Same place, same times. We discuss everything, without any real taboos.
One rainy Sunday afternoon I suggest that he do a photo series with himself as the face.

- So, when does that suit you?

- Well, I'm in a bind... My secretary has gone on holiday, she's not back yet.

- You're an idiot...

Recently bought a phone, we often talk by SMS.
We meet in front of the Carrefour on a Friday at noon.
It's agreed that I'll show him the places I particularly like, just to get him out of his everyday life - for a moment at least.

So off we went, armed with two boxes and Philippe with a speaker and a can in a plastic bag.
Despite his modest physical condition, the steep slopes of the 18th century do not scare him.
He is a child of the hills of Paris.
With his Junot gang, they used to meet up with the Abbesses gang in the allée des brouillards.

Looking for a place to live for a long time, he almost pragmatically says:
- I'm 52 years old, I have no wife, no children and I'm French. I'm not a priority.

Beatnik culture obliges, from the 6th grade he listens to bands like Telephone, Trust, Pink Floyd. This was followed by novels by Bukowski, Hemingway and Franck Thilliez. He joined the army kitchens at the age of 18, while his mother was worried about his friends.
Sacré Coeur, Paroisse St-Pierre - where he was baptized - , Rue Caulaincourt, Abbesses, Boulevard de Clichy, at each crossroads its anecdote. It's already 4 p.m., I'll come back to take him "home".

To write is to reveal oneself, to walk too.
