MYTILENE
Lesbos is a Greek island in the northeastern Aegean sea, separated from Turkey by the narrow Mytilene Strait. It is often called Mytilene in Greece, after its capital. In 2015 Lesbos became one of the main epicenters on the Eastern Mediterranean migrant route. Throughout the year , and in the following years, thousands of people, mostly from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, landed along the island's coastline.
