CNN is looking for photos that show motherhood through the eyes of photographers who are mothers. Selected photographs will be licensed and published on CNN Digital, where we will tell the stories behind the photos.

Brief & Application Procedure

  • General
    • Theme: Motherhood. A look at motherhood through the eyes of photographers who are mothers.
    • All submissions are made via the submission page
    • The story may be set to 'public' or 'private' within the Visura system.
    • There is no entry fee during the application process.
  • What to submit: 
    • Submission: Upload one to 10 images at minimum image size: 3000px on the longest dimension at 200dpi.
    • Title: Add the title of the image.
    • Location: Add the location of where the image was taken.
    • Caption: Include a caption following AP Standard Guidelines.
    • Date of Image: Add date image was taken.
    • Statement: Under Add Statement please answer the following questions.
      • Tell us more about the photo(s). What stands out to you now, looking back? Is there any additional context you’d like to share with our audience?
      • Can you describe what it has been like being a mother? What are the challenges and triumphs, and what would you like readers to know about your experience?
      • What does motherhood mean to you?
  • Update/Create your Profile
    • Add your About statement to your About page to include a written resume, website, social media, current location, and nationality. 
    • Add your Resumé to your CV page (viewable by Editors, only) by following these steps: Profile > Edit > Skills > CV
