About 40 pupils were pulled out alive during rescue efforts at the scene of a collapsed school building in Lagos.  About 9 people are confirmed dead, according to media reports.
 .
The three-story building collapsed around 10 am local time on Wednesday, according to rescue officials and residents. More than 100 people were believed to be inside the building at the time of collapse.

The building contains residential apartments which made up the ground floor and a primary school for pupils at the top.

Rescue efforts are ongoing as at the time of filing this report and exact casualty figures may not be immediately clear.
