One of my last editing projects for 2021 was producing this Year in Pictures with fellow Missourian editors Michelle Gutierrez, Paola Rodriguez, and Tristen Rouse. Over the span of several days, we narrowed thousands of images Missourian photojournalists had made in 2021 down to a 49-picture edit we felt represented both the best work of our visual journalists and the year our community had lived. A condensed version of that edit published in the special print section designed by Phillip Garrett. I coded HTML to create the web presentation's pull quotes in order to customize the style to the special collection of pictures.
