Svetlana Nekrasova

Svetlana is a Ukrainian photographer living in Washington DC. Her fascination with photography started as she walked the streets of Istanbul, and observed the colorful and busy life around. For several years she spent every weekend photographing streets, combining it with her full time job as a teacher. As life brought her to Washington DC in 2018, she felt that she wants to explore other kinds of photography, and few months later Svetlana became a student at a documentary photography school. "My Americans" is her first documentary project that was originated from her first year of living in America and struggling to find her place in this country. She is a member of a 202 Creates art residency in Washington DC, and participated in several group exhibitions in Istanbul and Washington DC.
