Monona Grove BLM Protest Walk
Monona, WI
June 10th 2020
"Due to the recent civil unrest in our nation and in our own communities of Monona and Cottage Grove, the Monona Grove Parent Equity Council (PEC), in collaboration with the Monona Grove High School Black Student Union have organized a peaceful protest walk."
A post on Facebook earlier in the day said the protest walk was on rain or shine... Rain it was and walk they did! A crowd of several hundred gathered at the Monona Grove school district building and then proceeded to march down Nichols Road to Winnequah Park, where an eight minute 46 second moment of silence was held in remembrance of George Floyd and how long it took Derek Chauvin to murder Mr. Floyd on May 25th 2020 in Minneapolis, MN.
