Matthew is an American photographer whose work often looks inward, exploring themes of belonging, relationships, and memory through his photographs and writings. His work often examines subcultures in America and elsewhere, looking closely at how identities and communities are shaped by collective experience and place.
Matthew was born and raised in Texas and graduated from the University of Missouri Journalism school in 2012. He studied internationally at the Danish School of Media and Journalism in 2013 earning a Bachelor's Diploma from their program.
In 2017, he was awarded a year-long Fulbright Research Grant to document and photograph urban migrant communities in Mumbai, India. Matthew is based in Austin, Texas.
