Rebeca Maxon

Rebeca Maxon is a Latina interdisciplinary scholar, emerging photographer, and community member born and raised in Southwest Detroit. She is a second year doctoral student at the University of Michigan studying Educational Psychology who is passionate about using documenting and scholarship as measures to uplift community-driven organizing, narrative, and storytelling. She is especially interested in how the intersection of these measures are used as a means to combat cultural, community, and racial erasure and injustice. Her current documenting work focuses on narratives around family and community healing in her hometown of Detroit.
