SEGREDO UM CANTO DO MAR
While I was traveling towards this island, I asked myself what it would feel like to be so far away from the mainland, in the middle of nowhere. Islands have a peculiar magnetism. I always thought that they were depths who are tired of being hidden and thus emerge in search of light. And in this way, São Miguel was born, a slow-paced but rough place, of earth and fire. There, silence guards you with a seal, in the hope that something magical will happen, in the hope that this basaltic island will reveal other presences.
Its inhabitants have in them unfathomable enigmas, such as the saudade, villages which disappear with the mist, divine fire and the three mysteries of Fatima – whose secrets were entrusted to three young shepherds in the form of prophecies.
The unexpected confinement in the island made me discover what I did not know I was searching: a nook in the world where everything began and where the wind whispers the secrets surrounding us.

Mientras viajaba hacia esta isla, me preguntaba qué se sentiría estar tan lejos de tierra firme, en medio de la nada. Las islas tienen un magnetismo particular. Siempre he pensado que son profundidades que se cansan de estar escondidas y, entonces, emergen en la búsqueda de luz. Y así nació São Miguel, un lugar pausado pero embravecido, de tierra y fuego. Desde allí, el silencio te custodia con sigilo, a la espera de que algo mágico suceda, a la espera de que esta isla basáltica desvele otras presencias.
Sus habitantes llevan consigo enigmas insondables, como la saudade, los pueblos que desaparecen con la niebla, el fuego divino y los tres misterios de Fátima –aquellos secretos que fueron confiados en forma de profecía a tres niños pastores-.
El inesperado confinamiento en la isla me hizo descubrir lo que no sabía que estaba buscando: un rincón en el mundo donde todo comienza y el viento susurra los misterios que nos rodean.
