Renewed, a collaboration between Mark Chen and his mother Shiao-Nan Chen, is currently on view in Art-tri-bu-tion at Griffin Museum of Photography.
Renewed is an union of counterpoints on multiple levels: it is a mix of two contrasting media: photography and Chinese watercolor; its content with juxtaposed power generation sites and landscape depicts the conflict between modernization and tradition; the collaborators are a mother and son pair who came to term with their artistic differences.
Mark Feeney of Boston Globe calls Renewed "mind-bendingly incongruous". His full review can be read here: https://www.bostonglobe.com/arts/art/2018/04/25/griffin-two-arts-for-price-one/13wIkf9BUXYUPlPIhjKCmO/story.html
The exhibition closes on June 9, 2018.
