Uganda People's Defence Forces and Uganda Police personnel took a knee, pointing guns at unarmed civilians who wanted to cross and follow National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi after his rally in Mayuge district Eastern Uganda on November 16, 2020. They also fired bullets in the air and tear gas to stop them which forced many to swim through the swamp water so that they could join the procession. The security personnel say that they were enforcing the Ministry of Health COVID-19 restrictions on public gatherings to prevent the spread of Corona virus. PHOTO / ABUBAKER LUBOWA
