Lauren Miller is a multimedia storyteller. She started photographing her loved ones because she felt compelled to capture everyday moments. She continued photographing and creating because it has given her a deeper understanding of people’s inherent complexities and examines how we are all connected. Lauren is dedicated to capturing the intimate, mundane, beautiful moments and nuances that make up everyday life, which she is able to do every day in her job as a daily new photographer in rural America. Her ultimate goal is to genuinely portray complex things that are innate to being human, such as emotions, relationships and assumed roles in a collaborative way with those she is making the images of. The idea of reciprocity guides her work. She focuses on maintaining open and honest dialogue with those she is working with so that it becomes something they can create together. She hopes through her work to create connection, curiosity, empathy and understanding.
