T.S. Eliot wrote in The Four Quarters:

Time present and time past
Are both perhaps present in time future
And time future contained in time past.
If all time is eternally present
All time is unredeemable.
What might have been is an abstraction
Remaining a perpetual possibility
Only in a world of speculation.
What might have been and what has been
Point to one end, which is always present.

My project entitled Sweet  Sixty  is a political project. It is a project inspired by the infamous economical situation in which my homeland Greece has come to, during the last 3 years of the ongoing economical crisis.

Kandinsky explains in his work “Concerning the Spiritual in Art” that every piece of art is a product of its era. In a society where social taboo of political choices have been underlying for decades, sweet sixty is my personal response to a generation that has desperately tried to present herself as a pioneer of a system that has failed in such a spectacular mode. Sweet sixty is about the generation of my parents, all over sixty now, the generation that opposed a dictatorship and believed in a social change that could reform the profound state of mind of a country which has always been under the influence of foreign choices and decisions. It is a series about next generation, mine, which is trying desperately to hold on to a system that keeps rejecting her. It is a series that screams STOP to the saviors’ from another era, who have patronized, up to now, choices and ideas of modernity.
