Dear Friends,

I hope all is good with you. I am happy to share some good news with you. The W. Eugene Smith Memorial Fund has announced that I have been named a finalist for the 25th annual Howard Chapnick Grant. For more info visit: https://www.smithfund.org/news

The grant is presented to an individual or organization to strengthen leadership in any field ancillary to photojournalism, such as picture editing, research, education, management, and whose efforts support the work of photographers.

Support from the Howard Chapnick Grant will fund the Rest With Honor Preservation Guide, which will teach photojournalists the practical tools and strategies to commemorate and preserve historic communities, sites and cultures. www.restwithhonorproject.org

"Judging the Chapnick grant this year was a pleasure and a challenge given the high volume of worthy and innovative entries. I am grateful to my fellow judges for their insight. The finalists proposed projects that would empower visual storytellers to explore issues of identity, navigate bureaucracy, restore hidden history, build community, and create a repository for the stories of trauma survivors", explained Elizabeth Krist, former Senior Photo Editor at National Geographic, and a Smith Fund board member.

Thank you to the judges for their consideration and for including me in the great company of all the amazing photojournalists who have been affiliated with the prestigious Howard Chapnick Grant and the W. Eugene Smith Memorial Fund. I want to extend a very special Thank You to the Visura team for bringing the Howard Chapnick Grant information and other opportunities to the attention of the Visura community. Your mission contributes to making our work possible.
