OCD: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Obsessions are repeated, persistent and unwanted thoughts, urges or images that are intrusive and cause distress or anxiety (fear of being kidnapped, etc)

Compulsions are repetitive actions the OCD sufferer feels compelled to perform to reduce anxiety and prevent something bad from happening (counting, twirling, etc)

Grief: Great sorrow, often caused by someone's death.

(A middle-aged mom's attempt to understand and support gender identity because she's a "cool mom," a "hip mom," but failing miserably)
