My name is Joseph Kiprotich Kipsang a professional photojournalists currently working with The Standard Media group  currently based in Nakuru , Kenya. I cover seven counties in the expansive Rift Valley Region, that is Baringo,Laikipia,Samburu,Nakuru,Narok,Kericho and Bomet counties.
In my line of duty, I do photography for News, Features, Magazines and Sports both for the daily Standard newspaper, Travelog magazine, and also its online platform.
I hold a diploma in Journalism and my experience span close to Seven years having joined The Standard group in 2014.
Though my experience which I gained in the newsroom, I have mastered the art of diligence, creativity and to always think out of the ordinary. Working in a vibrant media house too, has made me work under pressure to meet any set timelines, deadlines too.
In one of my memorable assignments as a journalist, I covered the infamous 2014 Kapedo massacre where bandits lay ambush and massacred 21 police officers at Kasarani area along Kapedo-Lomelo road along The Baringo and Turkana counties. I also covered the equally infamous Nadome massacre in 2015 in which more than 100 people were killed following fierce gunfight between Turkana raiders and armed Pokot warriors.
I have also trudged the conflict-prone, volatile areas of Laikipia and covered conflicts between ranch owners and herders in 2017.
I participated in the Agility’s 2016 Photo Contest and I was named the 2nd place winner in the Technology Category.
