After the Atlanta spa shootings last March, the AAPI community was left shaken. We feared for our safety, and the rest of the country got a rare glimpse of our feelings of vulnerability. The soft light and shadows in this photo speak to this vulnerability to me, juxtaposed with the bright red colors used on the “Stop Asian Hate” poster.
