A protester mockingly dressed as President Trump raises their fist in front of a group of Trump supporters and counter-protesters that had gathered at Independence Mall as the President participated in a townhall discussion inside the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, Pa. on Sept. 15, 2020.
This photo represents the immense tension during the 2020 presidential election, not only across the United States but also here in Philadelphia, where the election count ultimately propelled Joe Biden to victory. On the left side of the photo are Trump supporters, and on the right are Trump denouncers. Splitting the two sides in the very middle of the frame is a person mockingly dressed as Donald Trump. Interestingly, the photo also subtly speaks to the Black Lives Matter movement, which was another major event of the year.
