Armenia and Karabakh
Ô±, Ayb. The letter A. The start of a journey.

Ayb
explores Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh during the Armenian Genocide Centennial commemoration from the perspective of a husband discovering the culture of his wife's family heritage. An experiential photoessay and political reflection in four parts, it is a humanist quest for, and discovery of, peace and joy in a region shaped by conflict and tragedy.

The photos here are a selection from the overarching essay, which can be read on exposure.

Amousin:
Husband or spouse. Transitioning from being a student of history to a shepherd of history.

Anmorouk:
Forget-me-not. Memorial observations of the Armenian Genocide by political, religious, and radical organizations.

Artsakh:
Strong Forest, or, the historic name for Nagorno Karabakh. The burden of liberation and occupation.

Akhber:
Brother, informally. Political postures and the transcendent power of brotherhood.
