Rally against the French Global Security bill
Article 24 amends the law of 29 July 1881 on the freedom of the press. It provides for a one-year prison sentence and a fine of 45,000 euros for the dissemination of the face or any element of identification of members of the police force in operation, with malicious intent.
Protesters, stated that "malicious intent" is too vague and subjected to interpretation, therefore, the bill seriously threatens freedom of the press and can give a sense of impunity to the police at a time when many incidents of police violence erupt.
