Jonathan Carroll is a photographer living in Jersey City, NJ. His work primarily focuses on themes regarding diversity and inclusion, and the reality of living in diverse cities in America. Jonathan received his B.F.A in Photography from the School of Visual Arts in 2007 and is currently a member of the National Press Photographers Association in good standing. He strongly believes in the power of photography to tell stories of everyday people and hopes to make a dramatic change in how people of color are depicted in the media.
His ongoing body of work “Living in Diversity” is an artistic approach to the practice of documentary photography that depicts the lives of different ethnicities through candid street photography as well as portraiture. It currently focuses on the city he resides, Jersey City, NJ, and will continue down the list of America’s most diverse cities.
Jonathan is currently a freelance contributor for the Jersey Journal.
