The Drag scene has caught the eye of photographers throughout the world for as long as there has Drag Queens have existed. Either for aesthetic reasons or for being a part of a subculture, it has fascinated people as much as it has been a target of prejudice. The purpose of this project goes beyond aesthetic reasons. It aims to portray the feminine dimension throughout the performative art form that is being a Drag Queen. It aims to bring the subjects with the project, their vision of what it means to be a Drag Queen, their feelings and emotions, their experience, not only through the images but through their words. And that's why this project carry us to a place where images meet words. Their words.

It's an ongoing series, since this project, for now, has only portrayed a couple that are Drag Queens, but the main goal is to portray at least 5 more people, people that already have been contacted and agreed to participate in this project.

In an era where gender issues and LGTBQI+ rights have been subject of more discussion, one of the biggest weapons one can use is education. Education and to listen to people who have been victim of prejudice throughout their lives. For that reason, this project positions itself humbly in a place where it can bring to the table more information regarding the subjects' perception of what it means to be men and women, despite one's gender, and of different forms of self expression and identification.
