Immaculata Abba is a researcher, writer, and visual artist (photograpy, film, collage) whose work explores how (West/diasporic) Africans are making a living through art, ideas and practices of home, rest/healing, fear and pain. She is currently a StoryMi documentary filmmaking fellow, a Goethe Institut/SBMEN art writing fellow, and a documentary fellow at the DOCOMOMO Shared Heritage Africa project.

With an academic background in history, literature and cultural theory and degrees from the University of Oxford and the University of London, she was previously a Senior Editor at TechCabal, an inaugural freelance fellow at African Arguments (Royal African Society) and a writer-in-residence at the Library of Africa and the African Diaspora (LOATAD). Her work has been exhibited and published widely in platforms such as the Bamako Encounters Biennale, the Swiss Le Temps newspaper and The Guardian (UK). Her film 'You Matter to Me' made under an artist fellowship with the Creating Black Joy project has been screened at the BFI London, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and others.

She is based between Abuja and Enugu, and I am available for local and international documentary and editorial assignments.
