Summary

On assignment for Der Spiegel - For the last 4 months I've been going to a shooting club in Rio de Janeiro to understand the consequences of gun policies during Bolsonaro's government.
Brazilians no longer have to provide extensive justification for why they need a weapon. Because of the legal changes, the number of registered firearms has increased almost 500 percent since January 2018.

This is a picture of a Brazil that has been growing in the shadows and now is in power - maybe not for so long.
