Mikayla Hotton is an artist who specialises in stop motion animation and model making. Her work focuses on themes such as history, gratitude and fear. She is influenced by legendary artists and studios such as Aardman animations, LAIKA, Tim Burton and Shaun Tan. Her experience in animation techniques range from charcoal and sand animation, to 3D and 2D hand-drawn computer animation. Building characters in traditional plasticine clay and recently silicone casting. Her artistry and attention to detail shine through her characters hand sewn costumes and props. Mikayla strives to exceed herself with each new project, fuelling her passion to broaden and improve her work.
