En 2015, durant une année, Morgan Fache va s’attacher à fréquenter la ville du Port le plus régulièrement possible. Son goût pour une approche sociale au sein de ses sujets le conduit naturellement vers cette ville et son port dont la réputation est synonyme de territoire inabordable et sulfureux. Il est difficile d’aller à l’encontre des idées préconçues, leur ancrage dans l’imaginaire est souvent solide.
Le travail photographique de Morgan Fache, tente de nous ramener dans ce moment où les certitudes peuvent être remises en cause. Ici, la photographie documentaire, celle qui prône le réalisme et la neutralité se conjugue avec une approche d’investigation militante. Le Port, véritable poumon économique de l’île, est difficile à appréhender. L’importance de son histoire et sa singularité lui donne une place à part qui participe pleinement à la fierté de ses habitants.
La subjectivité des images de Morgan Fache donne à voir la vie quotidienne d’une cité, d’une ville. Ses photographies mettent surtout en avant l’importance de la rencontre humaine. C’est cet échange qui permet au photographe d’accéder à ce qui n’est pas évident, pas accessible mais qui constitue une identité véritablement portoise.
Cette série photographique est le portrait d’une ville en pleine mutation avec ses enjeux sociaux et l’inter-culturalité qui en fait un espace caractéristique de La Réunion actuelle.

In 2016, Morgan Fache will spend a year visiting the city of Le Port as regularly as possible. His taste for a social approach to his subjects naturally led him to this city and its port, whose reputation is synonymous with unapproachable and sulphurous territory. It is difficult to go against preconceived ideas, their anchoring in the imagination is often solid.
Morgan Fache's photographic work attempts to bring us back to that moment when certainties can be challenged. Here, documentary photography, which advocates realism and neutrality, is combined with a militant investigative approach. The Port, the island's real economic lung, is difficult to grasp. The importance of its history and its singularity give it a special place which fully participates in the pride of its inhabitants.
The subjectivity of Morgan Fache's images gives us a glimpse of the daily life of a city, of a town. It is this exchange that allows the photographer to access what is not obvious, not accessible, but which constitutes a true Port identity.
This photographic series is a portrait of a city in the midst of change, with its social issues and the inter-culturality that makes it a characteristic space of today's Reunion Island.
