I am a documentary photographer currently based in Rome, Italy, where I was born in 1979. After graduating in communication sciences and then obtaining a masters in photojournalism at Rome’s Istituto Superiore di Fotografia (Institute of Photography and Integrated Communication – ISFCI), I complemented my training through workshops, seminars and courses with industry professionals including Stefano De Luigi (VII), Elena Boille (Internazionale), Francesco Zizola and Yuri Kozyrev (Noor), Christian Caujolle (Agence VU) and Tiziana Faraoni (L’Espresso).

In 2008, I started working as a freelance photojournalist, following local news for Italian newspapers such as Corriere della Sera and La Repubblica, then as a staff photographer for Il Messaggero. After this, I was represented by Italian photo agencies Prospekt and Parallelozero, which cover an important role in photojournalism in Italy, and which allowed me to work with Italian and international magazines and publications.

My work is mostly focused on Asia and the Middle East, principally in Palestine, covering social, political and cultural issues. Documenting the aftermath of Palestinian-Israeli conflict in Gaza, I sought to unveil and highlight the humanitarian issues hidden within one of the world’s most reported conflicts.

My long term project about Women in Palestine, "Habibi - Ivf" and "(Single) Women", have received a number of awards (1st prize LuganoPhotoDays, Best Color Documentary work at Gomma Grant, 1st prize Umbria World Fest, 1st Prize Px3, 1st Prize WPGA, 1st Prize Kuala Lumpur International Photo Awards, 2nd Prize IPA) and have been exhibited internationally in numerous shows and festivals including PhotoDays in Lugano, Organ Vida in Zagreb, Fotoleggendo in Rome, PPA Festival in Prague, the Trenčianske Teplic Festival in Slovakia, the Buenos Aires Biennial in Argentina, Foto8 Summer Show in London, PX3 in Paris, HPA in Beijing, Photography Gala in Washington and at MAP KL White Box Gallery in Kuala Lumpur.

My work and assignments have been published in some of the most prominent international publications including L'Espresso, Time, Stern, Der Spiegel, Le Monde, New York Times, The Guardian, Vsd, Polka, Swide, Le Tube, Piel de Foto, Panorama, Oggi, Gente, La Repubblica, Corriere della Sera and Il Messaggero.
