To turn fifteen in Mexico involves for a lot of persons the transition between being a girl and a woman. Supposedly, in the paraphernalia of this celebration reside illusion and happiness.
With XV I want to recognize that this ritual - and generally this age - comes with a high dose of frustration, exhaustion and pain.
Cumplir quince años en México implica para muchas personas el paso entre ser niña y ser mujer. Supuestamente, en la parafernalia de este festejo habitan la ilusión y la felicidad.
Con la serie XV busco reconocer el hecho de que ese ritual - y en general esa edad - conlleva también una alta dosis de frustración, cansancio y dolor.
