Just wanted to share that TAZ.de - a daily German newspaper - published a picture from my ongoing long-term documentary on Cyprus for their series leading to the European elections.

Caption: Nicosia, Cyprus. a Greek Cypriot guard stands watch over a soccer field where kids play a friendly game. Behind this post which sits one of the bastions of the old town of Nicosia, one can see the Kyrenia mountain range, which lies in the de facto Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, under the control of Turkey. This everyday scene, where an active military guard keeps a watchful eye on the Buffer Zone behind him but also takes a moment to enjoy a soccer match, is a unique sight in Europe.
