On June 20, 2020 Black Surfing Rockaway hosted a paddle out in support of Black Lives Matter at Rockaway beach. Surfers from all over the community joined the paddle out with chants of “Black Lives Matter!” rising over the sound of the ocean waves. June 20 marked 24 days of continuous protests throughout NYC since the death of George Floyd.
