DAY OF REMEMBRANCE AND GRATITUDE

March the 2nd marks in the Republic of Moldova the "Day of Remembrance" (Ziua memoriei) and, since 2021, also "of Gratitude" (È™i recunoÈ™tinÈ›ei): this date is the anniversary of the beginning of the war on the Dniester river (1992). It commemorates the fallen heroes and gives thanks to the survivors of the armed conflict which took place among the Republic of Moldova and Transnistria.

The following images tell of the laying of flowers at the monument of Stephen the Great in Chisinau, the March of Memory (MarÈ™ul Memoriei) from the Grand National Assembly Square (PiaÈ›a Marii Adunāƒri NaÈ›ionale) to the the “Eternitate” Memorial Complex to finish in a gathering of veterans in the courtyard a local Orthodox church (2016).
