Several thousand supporters of an independent Kashmir protested in London against a curfew imposed on the region by India. [via AlJazeera: A presidential decree issued on August 5 revoked Article 370 of India's constitution that guaranteed special rights to the Muslim-majority state, including the right to its own constitution and autonomy to make laws on all matters except defense, communications and foreign affairs. In the lead-up to the move, India sent thousands of additional troops to the disputed region, imposed a crippling curfew, shut down telecommunications and internet, and arrested political leaders] Protesters have come to London from the whole of the UK and whilst calling for the same outcome multiple groups voiced their anger sepparatelly. The demonstration filled the section of Whitehall in front of No.10 for several hours to move to Trafalgar Square later.
