Several thousand people joined demonstration against rising antisemitism in the United Kingdom. Protesters filled part of London's Parliament Square and listened to several speakers from Jewish but also Christian and Muslim communities. British Jews feel growing unease about hostile signs in the society, fearing that the Labour party, whose leader Jeremy Corbyn has history of contacts with radical Palestine representatives, could threaten their future in the UK, if elected. In May, the Equality and Human Rights Commission announced an inquiry into whether Labour had "unlawfully discriminated against, harassed or victimized people because they are Jewish". Corbyn, a long time anti-racism campaigner, denies antisemitism. Meanwhile, rivaling Conservative party battles accusations of Islamophobia which it also denies.
