Not much progress being made. I feel that the revisions to my research will keep anyone from wanting to be interviewed. It sounds like homework on top of taking out a long chunk of someone's day. Also, it might make them look like they are taking on a political stance by deciding if something is good or bad representation in mass media by bringing examples to me. If you think I am going about this wrong let me know. I would rather just add an addendum to the project and do in-depth interviews as I had first proposed and as most projects do. Here is an example of what my emails are asking for.

Hello ----------,
My name is Daniel Shular and I am a graduate student studying photojournalism at the University of Missouri. I am doing my masters research project on photojournalists’ perspectives on mass media outlets’ portrayals and framing of undocumented immigration at the United States and Mexico border, and how that is affecting undocumented people in the real world. I would like to interview you about any examples of stories that you may know of that use visuals in a way to spread stereotypes and misinformation and examples that are accurate, representative, and may have solutions for people who can be affected by this type of coverage.

I'm estimating that the interview would run around 45 minutes. My schedule is fairly open most days, and if you're not sure how soon you are free, you could send me a link to any stories you may think of before we plan a time to talk. I know this is an unusual type of interview where I am asking you to bring something, so if you have any questions or want any more information you can call me at 636-887-5037 or email me here.

Thank you for your time,

Daniel Shular
