Nathalie Bertrams is a print and photo journalist who works across Africa and the Middle East. After Addis Ababa, Johannesburg and Istanbul, she is now based in Brussels. Her work has been published by among others The Guardian, Süddeutsche Zeitung, New Internationalist, Al Jazeera, Mail & Guardian, PRI.
Nathalie is a 2017 Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting grantee; received a grant from the Kunstfonds Foundation; and will be a Free Press Unlimited Reporting Fellow in 2018. She won second place in the Hostwriter story prize 2017 and the EU Lorenzo Natali Media Prize 2015.
Nathalie holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Germany. She is a member of Reporters without Borders, Freelens, Visura Guild, Hostwriter and Women Photograph
