The AfD which is active with in the country i now live,Germany, has in recent times been pushing an adgenda of re evaluating Germany's WW2 past and the rise of Naziism from 1932 till its collapse at the end of WW2.
A speech by Björn Höcke, the AfD's state leader in Thuringia:" "Germans are the only people in the world who plant a monument of shame in the heart of the capital." A reference to the Holocaust memorial within Berlin: He then went on to say that; (Quote direct from New York Times article) "German history is handled as rotten and made to look ridiculous" " a subtle but clear reference to guilt for the Holocaust and other Nazi war crimes " the crowd responded by chanting, "Deutschland, Deutschland."
This laid the ground work for the coming together of Europes Far Right (I remember when these organisatins were just referred to as Fascist, maybe we should all return to calling them what they are)and its gathering with in Germany.
Some 3 thousand demonstrators gathered in Koblenz, Germany to protest against the gathering of Europes Far/Alt right political parties at a summit in the city on the 21st of Jan. The demonstrators were drawn from varied political parties and trade unions and church organisations with in Germany.
In these troubling times of the rise of fascism we should do well to remember:
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
Edmund Burke
