Notting Hill Carnival

Since the 1960s, every summer thousands of people party and parade through the streets of Notting Hill in West London. For a weekend, sound systems, steel bands, samba schools and Afro-Caribbean music fill the streets around Portobello. In feather samba dresses, carnival costumes or simple mini-shorts, people dance with abandon under a blazing sun.
