During the first half of this year, 10.6 million tons of cane were milled, 725 thousand tons of sugar were sold in the domestic market and 270 thousand tons of sugar were exported.
According to the National Administrative Department of Statistics, DANE, the sugarcane and panela sectors reported an 800% increase in real production between January and May.
