Tyshanna Johnson, a high school student from Washington, DC is seen listening to speakers at the March for Our Lives Rally on Saturday, March 24, 2018 in Washington, DC. She shared the following with me, “I’m here to help as much as I can. I hope to stop gun violence, because I grew up in a neighborhood where I witnessed people dying and all that. I lost a few friends. I lost my best friend. Lost everybody that I really was close to. I don’t want everybody else to go through that. So I’m here to support as much as I can.” —March For Our Lives is a student-led movement to end gun violence in the United States. Hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets of Washington, DC to demand that peoples’ lives and safety become a priority and to put an end to gun violence in communities and schools immediately.
